Sketchy Monday: Bird on a waterfall

Bah, late update again! But I have an excuse... I was trying to finish a painting Sunday and I was ON A ROLL, man, couldn't stop to post updates. (Now I see a dozen things I need to tweak in said painting... But progress was made!) Anyway, here's a random doodle from the archives for Sketchy Monday. An unidentified little bird sitting right in the middle of a waterfall at the Botanic Garden.

Now I guess I should make more progress on this app I'm supposed to be working on...

Whatever Wednesday: Another Heron

Another heron... What can I say, I run into them a lot. And they hold still. (Well, unless they're flying... But they even fly slow.) This one was sketched in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, my favorite hangout (obviously.)

Sketchy Sunday: Garter Snake

Some doodles of a garter snake that was inexplicably on display at an aquarium... Why they had a garter snake, I don't know, but he was cute. I tried to sketch him while he was eating worms...

Figure Friday: French Backs

Okay, back from vacation and general running around, and back to normal posting schedule! (As normal as it gets, anyway.) And hey, it's Figure Friday, so that means life drawing. Here's some more odds and ends from the archives, a bunch of backs from a supposedly "French" themed session at the Society of Illustrators.

Whatever Wednesday: Turtles

It is sooooo Summer right now. I think turtles would be appropriate for Summer. They spend all their time swimming and hanging out in the sun, and that's all I feel like doing this week. So have some turtle sketches! These were sketched at the botanic garden, they have tons of turtles there.(And yeah, things are still pretty discombobulated, hence why there aren't as many posts as usual... But everything should be back to normal in about a week, I think.)

Whatever Wednesday: Bees!

Okay, looks like this week and next week are going to be especially chaotic... (Hence why I missed Sunday...) So there may be a few missed days. Meanwhile, have some bees! During the last aster season there were a ton of bees all over the asters, so I sketched a few. Bees are cool.
